Sixth Annual Nonprofit Communication Conference: Back to the Basics

On October 6, 2017, Drury University’s Center for Nonprofit Leadership will host the sixth annual Nonprofit Communication Conference at the Oasis Convention Center. Since its launch in 2011, attendance levels have grown every year. Pre-registration for the full-day conference is robust and includes registrations from Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas.

The focus of this year’s conference is “Back to the Basics,” drawing on concepts that are likely to have inspired a professional’s nonprofit work and launched their organizations. Sessions will feature an emphasis on strategies for community and internal engagement, social media success, and financial planning. Attendees will learn how to tell an organization’s story through financial statements, reach fundraising freedom and how to connect with board members, staff members and the media.

Aside from informational sessions, this conference offers an invaluable opportunity to network with other nonprofit leaders in the region, providing inspiration from like-minded individuals and potential collaborations down the road. For the complete list of this year’s sessions, check out the Nonprofit Communication Conference schedule.

Finally, Dan Prater, director of the Center for Nonprofit Leadership, is excited to announce that this annual conference will be renamed the Nonprofit Leadership Conference in 2018, reflecting the diversity of topics it has come to offer.
